Industrial Sites
The CIP properties
includes more that 350 acres zoned and available.
The Park offers 1 acre to 100 acre parcels for light
and heavy industrial facilities ready to develop.
Building
designs in the Park include concrete tilt up, steel
and wood frame stucco.
CIP works
with each tenant as a team to design buildings that
are economical, functional, versatile and aesthetic.
Infrastructure on the Park includes a
state-of-the-art domestic water system and backup
fire system. Our state licensed wastewater system
and ponds are located to the south end of the park
for easy access for industrial users. |

Lyles
became a tenant on Colusa Industrial Park
(CIP) in October 2005. Since that time, the
company, now operating at Lyles Mechanical
Co. has grown to occupy more than a
five-acre site on the Park.
Lyles Mechanical Co.
has quickly become a major contributor to
our local economy and is providing a job
base of 13 fulltime employees. The bonus for
CIP is having a general contractor on site
to service our local companies. Currently at
CIP Lyles Mechanical Co. is doing work for
Premier Mushroom L.P. and for a local
communications company Tor Broadcasting. The
Tor towers project involved a very
specialized pre-assemble of a 240 foot
free-standing tower. Lyles brought this
project in on time and on budget. We are
very satisfied with the quality of work
Lyles Mechanical is dedicated to providing.

Airlifts For Placement on Sutter Buttes
On
October 17, 2008,
sections of the 240-foot Tor Broadcasting
tower were airlifted from the project
pre-assemble site on Colusa Industrial Park
to the Sutter Buttes for placement. The
tower was transported in six sections using
a helicopter. There were three 20-foot
sections weighing 10,000 pounds each, one
40-foot section weighing approximately 8,000
pounds and two 60-foot sections weighing
13,000 pounds each. The helicopter which
completed the lift and re-assemble process
in 3 hours and 40 minutes had the capability
of lifting up to 18,000 pounds. Keeping
within its safety guidelines, Lyles
Mechanical Co. assembled the sections not to
exceed weight specifications.
Lyles
Mechanical Co.,
a
subsidiary of Lyles Construction Group, has
the ability to perform varied types of
engineering construction projects as a
result of our dedicated personnel, at all
levels, to put forth a genuine and constant
team effort. Lyles Mechanical Co. takes
pride in its team of highly skilled
craftsmen, engineers, and exceptionally
professional support personnel. These are
the people on whom our continued
“progress through performance” depends.

 An
aggressive effort to breathe new
life into an existing building
on the Colusa Industrial Park
Property resulted in the
establishment of a
state-of-the-art food processing
operation.
Since 1990 the cold storage
building has been used for
refrigerated storage of fruits
and vegetables, but now is
occupied by Premier Mushrooms
L.P. Late in 2007, Premier
expanded to include the cold
storage and packaging facility
on the Industrial Park. At this
facility, Premier merged and
integrated a packaging staff of
about 35 employees.
The former cold storage building
is now a 21,000 square foot
facility, which although
designed for strict adherence to
food safety guidelines goes
beyond the level of standards
required. In fact, the operation
standards, driven by the USDA
and FDA as well as customer
specifications take a proactive
approach and follow standards
higher than those required. The
building also includes
bio-terrorism security measures
to further insure the quality
standards and safety of the
mushrooms being processed there.
Premier Mushrooms L.P is one of
Colusa County’s fastest growing
ag-related industries. The
mushroom farm has seen
tremendous success and growth in
facility size, production
numbers and as an employer since
it first purchased the existing
farm in 2006. To date, Premier
Mushrooms is in full production
of 32 growing rooms producing
more than double of predicted
production rates.
The mushroom farm employs more
than 100 employees, and has
expanded its wholesale client
base to include many of the
major food distributors in the
state.
At
the end of 2007, Premier
Mushrooms CEO Mark Gannuscio
commented that the expectations
for the year had been met, and
that the farm is doing better
than planned. Moving into 2008,
Gannuscio stated that the farm
would implement an entirely new
processing line with washed
mushrooms for slice and a
comprehensively engineered
processing line for packaged
mushrooms for bulk to final
product.
“Our expectation is to
streamline the process and
automation to improve processing
customer satisfaction while
keeping down overtime,” he said.
Premier Mushrooms L.P. has
worked hard to become a part of
the community. They have stepped
up to support the youth by
contributing $50,000 to the
construction of the snack
building at the Colusa High
School Football Stadium, they
sponsored Kids World and
free hot dogs and soda for
children attending the Colusa
County Fair, and they sponsored
a softball team.
While there may have been
previous issues of odor at the
site, the group of private
investors who
purchased the business has taken
great care in upgrading the
facility. The priority of that
upgrade process has been an odor
reduction air system said
Gannuscio.
Gannuscio also explained that
the facility’s wharf area is
totally enclosed. The process
includes two bio-filters to
cleanse the air and mitigate
odors. The odor mitigation/air
treatment design assures that
the wharf maintains a negative
pressure, inducing airflow into
the building and preventing
escape of interior air and
odors.
The pasteurizing and compost
process is totally enclosed in
the wharf building. Gannuscio
added that all aspects of
wetting straw to the final
product would be contained. “The
negative pressure forces the
atmosphere to go through the
scrubbers and bio-filters to
remove odors from the air,” he
said.
According to information
provided by Premier Mushrooms
L.P., the odor impact
minimization plan has been
developed to provide guidance to
on-site personnel in the
handling, storage, and removal
of compost-like substrate
materials in accordance with the
California State Code of
Regulations.
The farm initially began
production growing ‘whites’ but
has now expanded to include
portabella and browns as well.
Premier Mushrooms has the
potential of becoming one of the
largest private-sector employers
in Colusa County.
