Premier Mushrooms, LP

Premier Mushrooms L.P. is one of Colusa County’s fastest growing ag-related industries.
The mushroom farm has seen tremendous success and growth in facility size, production numbers and as an employer since it first purchased the existing farm in 2006.
To date, Premier Mushrooms is in full production with 48 growing rooms.
Premier Mushrooms L.P. has worked hard to become a part of the community. They have stepped up to support the youth by contributing $50,000 to the construction of the snack building at the Colusa High School Football Stadium, they sponsored Kids World and free hot dogs and soda for children attending the Colusa County Fair, they sponsored area youth sports teams,and are the sponsors of the The Premier Mushroom L.P. Demonstration Stage which opened at the 2011 Colusa County Fair.
They co-sponsored the Country Music Showdown during Western Days with the proceeds going to Colusa County High School Ag Departments, and provide Premier Mushrooms to the Colusa Farmers' Market with the sales’ proceeds being contributed to local non profit funds.
Late in 2007 Premier expanded to include the cold storage and packaging facility on the Industrial Park.
The farm initially began production growing 'whites' but has now expanded to include portabella and browns.
CEO John Ashbaugh said that the future looks good for Premier Mushrooms.

Colusa Rice Company

With a capacity of 1,240,000 cwt the Niagara Rice Drying & Storage facility is one of the most modern and efficient plants in the world. Recent expansion in 2010 was to add a new office and quality control lab. With experienced management and operators Colusa Rice Co. achieves the highest rice quality in the industry year after year.

Colusa Milling

Colusa Milling has served Colusa County as a diversified warehouse and milling operation for more than 25 years. A grower-owned company, Colusa Milling handles a variety of dry beans including kidney, black eyes, baby lima, cranberry, pinks, light red kidney and pinto beans. The facility also cleans and mills seed crops such as rice seed for local growers.

Indian Harvest Specialtifoods

Indian Harvest Specialtifoods Inc. is a 100,000 square foot facility for wild rice receiving, parboiling, drying, milling, processing, blending and packaging. Indian Harvest markets wild rice to a variety of customers including high end restaurants. Expansion in 2008 included construction of a 50,000 square foot concrete tilt up warehouse for green rice curing and finished product storage.

Sakata Seed

SAKATA Seed America Inc. is a worldwide vegetable seed, breeding, cleaning and drying facility. They process and market open pollinated and hybrid squash, watermelon, cucumber, carrot seed and an extensive product line.

Clearcast Concrete and Stone

Clearcast Concrete & Stone Products is a concrete brick and block manufacturer using raw aggregate material from the base of the Sutter Buttes. Clearcast Concrete & Stone Products produces a variety of construction blocks, retaining wall block, paving stone and decorative landscape block. They can also produce speciality products based on customer specifications.

Wilbur Ellis Fertilizer

Wilbur Ellis Fertilizer Co. is a fertilizer and crop chemical distributor in the Northstate. It is a full service company to support the local ag industry. Its current expansion includes leasing a 13,312 sq. ft. warehouse with a new office facility.

Simplot Grower Solutions

Simplot Grower Solutions is a fertilizer and crop chemical distributor in Colusa County and the surrounding area. It is a full service company to support the local ag industry. Part of the Simplot facility is an anhydrous ammonia convertor for producing aqua ammonia.
